BFL’s Submission only Grappling

On an upcoming event, Battlefield Fight League will be hosting a number of Submission only – no gi- Grappling matches in the cage.

The rules are set to create exciting, fast-paced matches. Here are some highlights of the rules:

One 8 minute round.

Multiple submissions are allowed. Therefore, submissions have points. The value of submissions go up as the time advances:
Subs in minutes 1 and 2 count as 1 point each
Subs in minutes 3,4, and 5 count as 2 points each
Subs in minutes 6,7, and 8 count as 3 points each

If there is a tie:
There will be a 2 minute OT round. The athlete who has been dominating the first round (ref’s decision) will get to choose out of couple positions. This round is “sudden death” the first sub wins the fight.

* If an athlete cannot continue, due to tapping out late, s/he loses the match
* Submissions stop the clock. The clock will restart again once the match is resumed
* All submissions are allowed.
* Slams are NOT allowed
